Young County Jail Overview
Young County Jail is operated by the Young County Sheriff's Office. It is the only detention facility in the Young County facility map, and it is the county-level custody point for people arrested by Young County deputies, Graham Police Department, Olney Police Department, DPS, warrant officers, and other local agencies when they are booked into county custody. The jail handles adult pretrial detainees, local sentenced inmates, bench-warrant arrests, parole and state-jail felony categories, and people who may be held pending transfer or another agency's action.
The jail is separate from the Young County Courthouse. The courthouse on Fourth Street is the place for District Clerk, County Clerk, County Court, District Attorney, and docket follow-up. Jail visitation, current custody questions, and roster questions route to the Young County Jail and sheriff operation on North Cliff Drive.
The official Young County jail page publishes the Current Jail List button and the unit-based visitation schedule for the facility.
The county page is the right source for the current jail list link and posted visit slots, but it does not publish every mail, money, phone, or visitor-rule detail.
Young County Jail Population
The Texas Commission on Jail Standards June 2026 current population report lists Young County Jail with a rated capacity of 144 beds and a total jail population of 77 on June 1, 2026. That is about 53.5 percent of capacity. The same month's incarceration-rate report lists an average daily population of 66 and a county rate of 3.61 per 1,000 residents.
The reported custody mix included pretrial felonies, pretrial misdemeanors, convicted misdemeanants, parole-related categories, state-jail felony categories, and other local categories. The public roster also showed immigration-hold and ICE-detainer charge text in inspected rows, which means a local jail entry can have another agency's hold attached to it.
Look Up Young County Jail Inmates
Young County Jail uses the NetData/i3 Verticals current jail list for public current-custody lookup. The search form is linked from the county jail page and is free to use. It is a roster list, not a detailed profile database. The inspected output showed inmate name, arrest number, booking date, dorm or housing code, and a short charge line.
- Open the Young County Current Jail List search form.
- Leave the beginning date and starting inmate name blank to pull the broad current list, or enter a beginning date to narrow by booking timing.
- Use the starting inmate name field carefully because the label suggests a list-start position, not a full exact-match search.
- Match the roster row to the person by name, arrest number, book date, dorm, and charge summary.
- Call the jail when the person was just arrested, a release may have occurred, or a hold or detainer needs confirmation.
The roster should be used for county jail custody. If a person has been sentenced to prison, search TDCJ instead. If federal or immigration custody is involved, use BOP, U.S. Marshals routing, or ICE locator channels rather than treating the county list as the full record.
Young County Jail Roster Fields
The Young County Jail roster has a small public field set. Its dorm field is especially useful because the visitation schedule is based on housing-unit labels. The inspected roster did not show public mugshots, bond amounts, court dates, warrant numbers, arresting agency, judge, or full charge-class detail.
| Roster field | How to use it |
|---|---|
| Inmate name | Confirms the listed person, usually in last-name-first order. |
| Arrest number | Local identifier to reference when calling the jail or requesting a booking record. |
| Book date | Shows when the person entered the jail record. |
| Dorm or housing | Connects the person to the posted visitation schedule. |
| Charge line | Short booking charge or hold text, which may differ from formal court charges later. |

Young County Jail Contact
Use the jail phone for current custody, housing, visitation, and immediate booking questions. Use the sheriff's main office number when the issue is broader sheriff routing or a written public-information request and no separate records unit is posted.

Young County Jail Visitation
The county publishes Tuesday and Saturday visitation by housing unit. The full Tuesday table was captured in the research file. Saturday is posted on the county page, but the raw captured text was incomplete after the first Saturday row and the evening T-1 slots. Visitors should confirm the exact current slot before travel, especially during lockdowns, holidays, or housing changes.
| Tuesday housing unit | Time | Type |
|---|---|---|
| Segs 1-5 | 8:00a-8:20a | Posted in-person schedule |
| Segs 6-11 | 8:30a-8:50a | Posted in-person schedule |
| S-1 through S-4 | 9:00a-10:50a | Posted in 20-minute unit blocks |
| E-3 and E-4 | 11:00a-11:50a | Posted in 20-minute unit blocks |
| W-1 through W-7 | 1:00p-2:50p | Posted in grouped unit blocks |
| M-1 through M-3 | 3:00p-3:50p | Posted in grouped unit blocks |
| E-1 and E-2 | 4:00p-4:50p | Posted in 20-minute unit blocks |
| T-1 County and T-1 City | 6:30p-7:20p | Posted in evening unit blocks |
The roster's dorm or housing code should be checked before a visit because the visit table is not organized by last name. Bring government photo ID and call the jail before travel to confirm the visitor entrance, parking area, dress code, phone and bag limits, child rules, and current housing assignment.
Young County Jail Mail and Money
The inspected official county pages did not publish a full mail format, phone vendor, video provider, commissary vendor, deposit kiosk, online money deposit link, or fee schedule for Young County Jail. That absence should not be filled with a generic vendor name. Call the jail before sending mail, funds, books, photos, or property.
| Service | Published official detail |
|---|---|
| Mail address format | Not located in official county material inspected. |
| Phone or video provider | Not located in official county material inspected. |
| Money deposit vendor | Not located in official county material inspected. |
| Commissary fees | No official fee table located. |
When a jail does not post these details online, ask for the approved inmate name format, booking number requirement, sender limits, payment forms, and contraband rules before sending anything.
Young County Jail Booking
Young County did not publish a full booking procedure, so the safest description combines the local roster fields with Texas jail-process basics. A person arrested locally may be transported to the jail or another appropriate booking point, identified, checked for warrants, booked, screened, classified, assigned housing, and then added to the public current jail list after the record is entered.
Booking charges are not the final court record. A jail charge may be shortened on the roster, amended by the prosecutor, reduced, dismissed, replaced by indictment or information, or held up while a detainer or warrant is reviewed. Bond may be set by a magistrate or court, but the inspected Young County roster did not show bond amounts.
- Arrest number
- The local identifier shown in the Young County roster row.
- Dorm
- The housing code used to match the inmate to posted visitation slots.
- Hold
- A custody reason that may block release even when a local charge has bond.
- PR bond
- A personal bond based on promise and court conditions rather than a full cash or surety bond.
Young County Jail Court Follow-Up
Jail records and court records answer different questions. The jail roster shows current custody and a short booking charge line. Formal court records after an arrest are handled through the prosecutor, clerk, court docket, re:SearchTX, and sometimes DPS conviction-history channels.
Felony filings generally route through the 90th Judicial District Attorney and District Clerk. Young County County Court handles misdemeanor cases within its jurisdiction, and the County Clerk is a key county records office. Graham Municipal Court matters are Class C municipal cases, not felony or county-jail custody records. The court records after a jail arrest page separates those paths in more detail.
About Young County Jail
The current active jail is at 315 N Cliff Drive. Young County also has a historic former jail at 505 2nd St in Graham that was built in 1921 and is no longer the active custody facility. That former building is local history, not the address for current inmates or visits.
Local program details for GED, work programs, substance-abuse treatment, tablet services, religious services, reentry, and grievance procedures were not posted on the inspected county jail page. TCJS minimum standards cover jail records, classification, supervision, health, and inmate services at a state-oversight level. For current local programming or complaint routing, contact the jail or TCJS as appropriate.
Note: Confirm custody, housing, visitor rules, and the current visit slot with Young County Jail before traveling.
